Antares

Thursday, June 14, 2007

The new pond out front is just about finished.

Fish are in from the other pond, pond margin plants are in , including a night blooming Tropical waterlily called "Antares"
named after the largest star in the night sky. Its a deep, rich red and the leaves a rich dark green. Its spectacular!
It will be joined by a white day bloomer soon.
A lovely Iris blooms in the shallows and other tropical plants share the space.
The fish are skittish since they are used to a far larger pond and over 3ft of water. Now in their new 24 inch home, and half the space these guys need plenty of hiding places. I need to provide some underwater plants for them to hide amongst.
Just wanted to share my lily with you.
Til next time, I leave you on a happy note.
